T2D Helper (MOD) 3.0

The ADA/EASD consensus was developed by the international associations ADA and EASD and uses evidence-based data on the use of glucose-lowering medication in adults with type 2 diabetes with the aim of preventing acute and chronic diabetes complications and improving quality of life. In the glucose-lowering treatment of type 2 diabetes, the healthcare provider can choose between different classes of drugs.

The T2D Helper app searches the ADA/EASD consensus for the most appropriate glucose-lowering therapy and presents it in a clear format, taking into account co-morbidities such as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), heart failure, chronic kidney disease and weight problems. In addition, a function is available in the T2D Helper app that takes into account the Belgian reimbursement rules (applicable as of 1 January 2025). The forms required for requesting reimbursement of the medicines as well as the package leaflets of the medicines are available in PDF format.

The software does not provide medical advice, it is not a decision support tool, but is a pure search tool that can be used to efficiently search the existing international ADA/EASD consensus. The app is intended for healthcare professionals, healthcare institutions, students, etc.

An update of the app will be performed when the landscape of type 2 diabetes treatments changes and when the reimbursement criteria in Belgium change.
